Adventures in Doggy Sitting

In April my brother took a trip to Japan with two of his friends, and my mom took another cruise with her siblings (the same exact locations we went to in November, but a different cruise line). So, yours truly had to babysit the family dog while they were away.

Luckily, I only was alone for about a week with him. While babysitting, I had him help me around the house, took him with me to go get gas, and then later I took him with me down to visit the kids in Southern Utah for a few days.

He survived the drive down there, especially with high winds.

When we met up with one of the kids and their dog, it didn’t go well. Their dog nipped his ear, and so we had to take him back to the motel and get it to stop bleeding. He’s ok now.

It’s a little more difficult to visit the kids when the dogs don’t get along, and you have to leave him in the room or bring him with (but you can’t go indoors). Since I’ve been visiting more often, we are enjoying the time together doing whatever we want to do at that moment, instead of making plans in advance to always be on the go or visiting a new location (like in the past).

While visiting, I was able to help their mom with taking the kids to appointments and more, which feels really weird because I don’t get to do it daily like full time parents do.

On the last evening I was there, I took Brodie to the DIXIE rock to get pictures of the sunset, and Brodie.

Before leaving town, I stopped by a new non-profit coffee shop. Clover had one of her paintings on the wall, so I wanted to check it out.

Brodie survived the drive home and finally received a decent bath!
