Continuing on from my last post of foliage photographs this year so far, on the second of three nights off, I let the kids do their own thing at Encircle while I took Brodie with me up Emigration Canyon again.

We drove back and waited another hour until the sun went behind the mountain.
By the end of our night, Brodie had had enough, so we left. I should have stayed just a few more minutes to capture more different tones of sunset colors. Next time, I will stay until I start getting attacked by mosquitoes… or creatures of the night come out to play.
Then, on my last day off, I was able to go out and take pictures. I ventured solo up Big Cottonwood Canyon [wiki] to capture as many photographs as possible.

Continued up and around Brighton Ski Resort [wiki], but the few single trees next to the sign [map] were the only trees at the resort with foliage… and it stood out like a sore thumb.
I looped back around and parked near Silver Lake, so I could walk in a little bit of where the sun was still visible.

Had I had more time and more sunlight, I would have continued up Guardsman Pass [wiki]. Instead, I started to head back down the canyon and stopped at a few more locations that stood out as I drove by.
